What about us young people?
Young people living in pain.
SRDC / CRPS / RSD / SUDEK complex regional pain syndrome can be especially scary to us young people. Not only do you feel a lot of pain, but you have special problems that adults don't have.
Some examples I found:
-
You miss a lot of school and have trouble catching up.
-
Some teachers and classmates do not believe you and also criticize behind your back. It intimates you.
-
You can't do your favorite activities, like Taekwondo, drive a car, or dance.
-
Your parents mean well, but they keep you from doing things that you know you can do.
-
You go from doctor to doctor for tests, but no one can or will tell you what is wrong.
-
You search for information online and can't understand what it means or it's so scary that it makes you cry
-
You don't know anyone else who has this and you feel like a freak
-
You feel lonely because you can't go to school events or parties or go on dates.
-
You wonder if you can ever finish school or college
-
You don't have anyone who understands what you're going through
-
You just want to have a normal life and be like the other young people and that makes you sad and angry.
